We’re excited to share some fantastic news from the squash community in Falmouth and Cornwall — Jeanne, Jon and Sam, who are members at Falmouth Sports Club, have recently qualified as England Squash Level 1 Community Development Coaches.
They completed their training at a recent course hosted at Truro Squash Club, and are now officially qualified to lead group sessions and help make squash more accessible to players of all ages and abilities.

What Is a Community Development Coach?
The England Squash Level 1 Community Development Coach qualification is designed for those looking to support the growth of squash at a grassroots level. Coaches are trained to:
-
Deliver fun, safe and inclusive group coaching sessions
-
Engage with beginners and returners to the game
-
Create welcoming environments for players of all backgrounds and abilities
-
Promote participation and community involvement through squash
It’s a key role in developing local squash and helping more people discover and enjoy the sport.
Training at Truro, Coaching at Falmouth
Although the qualification was gained at Truro Squash Club, all three coaches are active at Falmouth Sports Club, where they’re already making a positive impact. This new qualification gives them even more tools to support players, run group sessions, and help new members feel confident on court.
Falmouth Sports Club is proud to have a growing coaching team, and this recent achievement marks another step forward in building an inclusive and active squash community in the area.
A Big Congratulations
Please join us in congratulating Jeanne, Jon and Sam on this fantastic achievement. Their dedication to coaching and to the squash community at Falmouth Sports Club is something we’re incredibly proud of. You’ll start to see them using their new skills at the Junior sessions on Saturday mornings!
We’re looking forward to seeing them inspire the next generation of players — and helping even more people discover the fun and benefits of playing squash.
