Congratulations to all the finalists and winners of the 2025 Tennis Championships. After several rearrangements due to illness and the ever-unpredictable Cornish weather, we’re delighted to report that both the Mixed Doubles and Men’s Doubles finals have now been completed.
The Mixed Doubles final was played in near-perfect sunshine and provided an entertaining contest. Michelle Thomas and Des O’Reilly faced Viv Cobner and Matthew Stone, with Viv and Matt putting in a strong performance to take the title in straight sets, 6–2, 6–2.
The Men’s Doubles final brought together a high-quality combination of players from the first team squad. Des O’Reilly and Ben Davies took on Dave Stanforth alongside Men’s Open Singles Champion, Charlie Martin. It proved to be a closely fought encounter, eventually decided by a tense match tie-break. Dave and Charlie edged it 11–9 to claim the championship.
These results add to those already decided earlier in the competition, leaving just the Ladies’ final still to be played.
